The Dolar Shop Hotpot Restaurant located in Manhattan grandly opened on December 1st. As a renowned Cantonese hotpot chain brand, this is its second branch in New York.
Stepping into this hotpot restaurant in the downtown area, in addition to the mouth-watering signature hotpot, the LED display screens installed around the restaurant walls are even more eye-catching. Accompanied by the rising steam from the hotpot, the high-definition LED display screens on the walls play video materials integrating Chinese and Western features in a loop, allowing customers to experience the lively atmosphere of the restaurant the moment they walk in.

As the designated LED display manufacturer for this The Dolar Shop Hotpot Restaurant project, EXCO Vision has always adhered to the concept of providing customers with high-quality products and efficient services, and effectively meets the diverse needs of customers.
According to the project design, the display screens are installed on the walls close to customers with a basic viewing distance within 2-3 meters. In product selection, we adopted P1.875mm and P2.6mm pixel pitches that meet the requirements of indoor high-definition display, delivering sharp and delicate playback images. Meanwhile, since the screens are installed around the walls, bevel cabinets are used for splicing at the corners to reduce the impact of splicing seams caused by structural particularities, striving to bring customers an ultimate viewing experience.


In this project, the primary concerns for the screens lie in moisture-proofing and heat dissipation. Due to the unique characteristics of hotpot restaurants, the rising steam from the heated hotpot soup base results in high humidity and temperature in the air.
As we all know, the internal components of LED display screens are Moisture Sensitive Devices (MSDs). Once moisture enters, it may cause oxidation and corrosion of components such as lamp beads, PCBs, power supplies and power cords, which in turn leads to dead lamp faults. At the same time, the internal components of LED screens are also the electronic parts that generate the most heat, such as LED lamp beads, driver ICs and power supplies. Poor heat dissipation design will cause oxidation of the screen materials, affecting the quality and service life. If heat accumulates and cannot be dissipated, it will cause overheating and damage to the internal components of the LED, leading to malfunctions. Therefore, in a high-temperature and humid environment, the modules, internal structure and cabinet structure of the LED screen must be designed with comprehensive and rigorous moisture-proof and waterproof measures, while good heat dissipation performance must also be taken into account.

To address the above issues, we selected high-quality LED chips for optimized design from the source, focused on the independent development of high-efficiency and high-quality driver power supplies. The outstanding quality of raw materials and excellent performance parameters have laid a solid foundation for heat dissipation and moisture-proofing, effectively reducing power consumption and heat loss, and improving the heat dissipation capacity of the display screens.
Furthermore, we improved the module production process, optimized the structure of electronic components on PCBs to simplify complex structures and arrange them rationally. We also used materials with high thermal conductivity for potting and sealing, and adopted GOB potting technology on the surface to meet the requirements of complete moisture resistance and heat dissipation of components.
Finally, we optimized the cabinet structure reasonably. In terms of cabinet materials, high-quality die-cast aluminum with excellent heat dissipation and anti-oxidation performance was selected. The internal part of the cabinet adopts a multi-layer spatial structure to form an overall transparent and convective heat dissipation structure, which can make full use of natural air for convective heat dissipation. This design not only takes into account heat dissipation and sealing performance, but also improves the reliability and service life of the screens.
