On the evening of October 19, along the banks of the Huangpu River, Moncler, the renowned Italian fashion brand, successfully hosted the Moncler Genius 2024 immersive global show under the theme “The City of Genius” as the grand finale of Shanghai Fashion Week. With an investment of 200 million RMB, the event brought together over 8,000 international guests to celebrate this spectacular occasion. At this intersection of trends and innovation, EXCO Vision harnessed the power of technology to illuminate the creative sparks of the designers, telling a unique romantic tale where fashion meets technology.
The source of all this inspiration came from the same dreamland: “The City of Genius.” According to official sources, the Moncler Genius 2024 immersive global show — occupying 30,000 square meters of space under the theme "The City of Genius" — marked the first time the brand has brought its Genius showcase outside of Europe since the launch of Moncler Genius. It was also described as the “largest, most important, and most influential” show in the brand’s history, hosted in China.
The show brought together ten “Genius Co-Creators” from around the world, spanning different fields and styles: Edward Enninful, Hiroshi Fujiwara, Donald Glover, Lulu Li, Mercedes-Benz by Nigo, Palm Angels, A$AP Rocky, Willow Smith, Rick Owens, and Jil Sander. These extraordinarily talented designers collaborated to present their meticulously crafted co-branded collections, strategically distributed across ten distinct themed blocks or districts. Each block conveyed a unique and innovative vision through a series of captivating displays, collectively creating a dynamic and creative event of unprecedented scale and ambition.

At the event, the crowds were dense, with long queues forming at the entrance of every district. Among them, a special surprise for this debut came in the form of the short film “The City of Genius”, supported by EXCO Vision, featuring a special appearance by Dou Jingtong, Moncler’s global brand ambassador, and directed by renowned photographer, artist, and filmmaker Wing Shya.

In this uniquely crafted film, the producer Wing Shya uses the perspective of Dou Jingtong as a guiding thread, continuously shifting between the 5-year-old Dou Jingtong and her present-day self to unfold the portrait of her growth. Utilizing the immersive space created by EXCO Vision, the film delicately and realistically simulates the inner world of Dou Jingtong at different stages of her development.

Light and shadow flow through the space with a life-like vitality, guiding the audience into her emotional and psychological realm, drawing them into deep immersion. This journey invites viewers to reflect on profound questions such as: “What defines a genius?” and “How does one become a genius?” As audiences experience the unique charm of the film, they are also led on a wondrous journey of exploration and contemplation about the very nature of genius.



At the event, the high-quality display equipment supported by EXCO Vision, combined with multi-tiered, scaffold-like high-rise city structures, created a surreal scene that seemed to transcend the boundaries of time and space. Within this dreamlike setting, two exceptionally innovative masterpieces — the co-created collection and the G-Class series — were brilliantly presented. The birth of both works perfectly embodied the central theme of exploring the future through the lens of the past.
