On September 7th, the “Everyone Can Rest Assured” press conference for Zhang Yimou’s first crime suspense film “Under the Light” concluded successfully at the 7D-Vision studio. The film refined over time in terms of its subject matter, casting, and overall quality, has finally emerged from a long and arduous process and will be released in theaters on September 28th.

Focusing on real-life themes, the film opens with a murder investigation and explores the complexities of human nature that the loss of moral bottom line in a world driven by materialism and power, where unchecked greed takes hold. It conveys the timeless proposition that “fair justice may be delayed, but it will never be absent”. And this is precisely what makes audiences favor positive-themed TV dramas and films.
The press conference was held through both offline and online live streaming, and quickly garnered widespread attention online. The live stream on Youku attracted 3.208 million viewers. It is undoubtedly tied to the ingenious stage design.
