As the Hometown of Huaiju Opera, the town is rich in Huaiju elements. The Costume Experience Hall displays a variety of traditional opera costumes, allowing visitors to experience the unique charm of Huaiju culture up close. Classic Huaiju operas are performed on the town’s stage on schedule. Visitors can sit and enjoy a show, experiencing the vicissitudes of life through classic stories. Huaiju Opera originated in Jianhu and is a national-level intangible cultural heritage. He Jiaotian, a recognized master of Huaiju Opera, had a special affection for Shazhuang, as it carries the soul of Huaiju. According to Xie Chaoyun, Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Jiulongkou Resort, Shazhuang is the ideal place to build a Huaiju-themed town. Opera-themed towns are common both at home and abroad, such as Shakespeare’s Town in the UK, Avignon Town in France, as well as domestic counterparts like Moluo Drama Town in Sichuan, Shengzhou Shaoxing Opera Town in Zhejiang, and Liyu Drama Town in Lanxi, Zhejiang. These towns integrate opera culture with local characteristics and play an important role in cultural communication and inheritance. Huaiju Town undertakes the same mission.

As the only Huaiju-themed town in China, it needs innovative ideas to highlight its characteristics.
